About Garrard Designs

My design journey began in 1989 when I earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. That same year, I completed my first home design—a two-story residence just outside of Petal, MS. Early in my career, I had the privilege of designing homes for the prestigious Canebrake Community in Hattiesburg, MS, while working alongside a local contractor.

In 1992, I moved to the Westbank of New Orleans, joining the Larry Trumbaturi Design Center. During this time, I collaborated with local contractors and Dwayne Crump Architects and Planners, contributing to hundreds of home designs in neighborhoods like Belle Chase, English Turn, Chalmette, and Slidell.

In 2002, I took a step back from full time design to explore a career in music and audio engineering. However, in 2017, my passion for design was reignited when I created my personal home, sparking the rebirth of Garrard Designs. Since then, I’ve been committed to designing homes that reflect the unique lifestyles and needs of the people who live in them.

In August 2022, I relocated to the Dallas area to be closer to my family and expanded my practice to Texas, offering personalized residential design services to a growing client base.
